When was the last time you bought something in a Woolworth's? We visited one today. I found Wikipedia had an interesting article. We remembered this store from a previous visit but expressly went today to see what was on sale. Our buying patterns in Puerto Vallarta have changed. We're no longer one-or-two-week tourists as in the past.
In fact, we have spent much of our first week in town just getting set up with food stuffs. Our apartment comes with most essential items but, for example, we picked up two locally-made coffee mugs today as the provided cups and saucers were too small for my double dose of morning coffee.
We were quite close as we wanted to find the post office. Finding postcards to send is not easy in this day and age. People nowadays tend to Instagram or email the folks back home. Yet we did find a few and wanted to get them into the system before the Christmas rush.
From our balcony we can see a part of the bay and watched a cruise ship come into port this morning. (Maybe you've heard about apartments in Paris which boast a view of the Eiffel Tower.) Coincidentally, just as I was typing this, it left. In a week and a half, we have a friend from Vancouver in a ship visiting for two days. It will be fun to see him in a completely different environment than a few week's back.
If anyone is planning a visit to Puerto Vallarta this winter, whether by boat or not, give us a shout.
