After days, we'd still not seen how long it takes to get to the water from our place. We had counted that our street, Aguacate, is five blocks up Basilio Badillo. We had walked back and forth numerous times since getting here but each and every time we got waylaid when buying food or something. Last night, we checked our watches and headed to the new Pier. It took 12 minutes to get to the sand in front of Daiquiri Dick's. It's good knowing it takes ten to fifteen minutes to get to the beach at a leisurely pace.
This morning we walked across this part of town along Aguacate. We are within feet of the car-accessible end as we butt up against the mountain. The opposite, north side ends at the Rivera Cuale. Getting to the eastern bridge into Centro proper will be easiest if we walk to the end of our street, cross a pedestrian suspension bridge into the Island Park, and continue through the shady trees. Everything in this little end of town is compact and I really, really love staying here. We've got the whole winter yet!
