The other week, in a hostel's kitchen in Tel Aviv, we used a new, plastic electric kettle. It was really fast and looked rather cool as it had some internal blue LEDs which made it glow when heating. I said outloud, "When I get home, I'll buy a regular kettle."
I looked online yesterday as the Canadian Superstore had a horrible collection of cheap ones. It was only when looking at websites that I thought about how we have started having reservations about storing foods in plastic containers. Boiling water in one is probably worse than simply storing leftovers in plastic.
Metal or glass then? They would both be good options but I thought it might be interesting watching the water boil through glass. Today, I picked up an inexpensive glass kettle at Walmart. I was right about watching it. Who says a watched pot doesn't boil!
Any bets as to how many weeks before I drop and break it?
