We are only about 500 meters from the Roman Theatre. We took photos there yesterday but when passing by in the evening, we found the actual seating part closed early. So, we went there right off the bat just to see what things looked like from the 'cheap seats'. It cost just 1 JD and that included the onsite museum.

We saw the Citadel along the hill opposite the Roman Theatre. We didn't know exactly how to get up there but we just walked a street that headed up. We found a series of steps that looked as though there were going the right way. Rather than sneaking in the back side, we walked all the way around the hill to pay the 2 JD. Half of that fee was to see a rather stale museum but I did manage to take a photo of pottery that might date the shards I have from when I worked in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The views were super. I am not sure how many of the 'Seven Hills of Amman' we were able to see though.

I like it here. When coming into the city we saw huge developments and enormous buildings under construction. Yet, this old part is for me. The various markets nearly surround this area. Other than a trip to Morocco a few years back, I'd not been in an Arab souk since the 1990's. The unchanging familiarity was comforting.
We won't have a late night as we will need to finish breakfast by 7:30 am tomorrow. We are going to cross into Israel via the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge. The process seems complex and constantly changing. We will see for ourselves, hopefully getting into Jerusalem and then Bethlehem in four or five hours tomorrow. We have a few Jordanian dinars, Israeli Shekels, and US dollars in our pockets at the moment.
