We got off the plane there at around 8:35 am local time and had to get to the other side of Germany, I mean the airport, for a departure out of another terminal. It was all easy and smooth with plenty of time to spare to be on the second leg in less than a hour and a half later.
The plane touched down in Egypt at the right time. We found a cash machine after buying our visas, so we were set to be able to tip our driver. The hostel had sent a guy to pick us up and drive us downtown. Seeing how it was later afternoon by this time, we got to witness the local traffic by being part of it. The hostel is fine with clean sheets and our own hot water tank full of water.
We got out and were able to walk. It takes a bit of time to orient my internal compass to a new place. I need to get the 'lay-of-the-land' in order to function happily. We ended up at Tahrir Square as it was a place we'd assuredly heard of.
We ate Koshary, before knowing that it was a famous local dish. We ended up back at the hotel by 7:00. I'm sleepy. I'm really sleepy.
