Alas, my father had to get rid of decades worth of National Geographic Magazines from the Wendell house. I had hundreds and hundreds of issues all organized by decade with complete notes on the missing editions. I thought I'd fill in any gaps someday. My original sets from the early 1900's had been previously bound. I never managed to read what was in all of them, but I had indexes so I could look up any particular topic.
Ye gads, perhaps I missed my calling to work as a librarian.
Now, of course, I no longer read much information from paper. I do miss the smell of old paper a little. Most definitely electronic editions of written works take up less physical space. Moreover, cutting and pasting from various publications can be accomplished with just the click of a mouse nowadays. In a way, I am still collecting. I throw many of the Internet articles I read into a personal Flipboard publication. I definitely still like the idea of collecting things, I guess.
Interestingly, now other people can have access to some of what I chose to include. Free freel to introduce yourself to Gorge.
