We made use of a free Tuesday by taking a short trip to Buntzen Lake. That area is a
reservoir for BC Hydro, our provincial electricity producer. The history of the area goes back to the beginning of the last century when it first provided power for the city of Vancouver. It is now a well maintained park area offering recreational opportunities.
It took a little more than a half hour to drive there. We also went into the neighbouring GVRD park to walk on White Pine beach. It was nice to get out in the sun and hear all the birds and sounds of nature.
My two main thoughts upon returning were the baby geese at both locations and the fact so many people were out on a work day!
