Live stats from bitcoinity.org Showing Current Price at US$118 per Bitcoin
Even though I haven't blogged at all about Bitcoin for at least 10 whole days; it doesn't mean I've given up advocating the crypto-currency. The ride over the past month has been pretty wild and I probably looked at screens like the one above for more time than was healthy.
At least Bitcoin rates on the various exchanges seem to have calmed down a bit of late. After Mt. Gox, the largest exchange, went into meltdown the markets yo-yo-ed frantically for about a month. Now I hope, for the good of the Bitcoin community that things calm down a bit. The role of a currency requires a steady valuation.
I'm happy with the current prices and hope they continue to increase at least the double the rate of inflation. Being that there's a maximum limit on Bitcoin production, they should act as a hedge against currently-devaluing currencies.
