As we are rapidly careening towards our departure on Wednesday evening, my entries here in my eJournal and images may appear to become a bit of a countdown. So, it is today.
This was the last Sunday we will go to the Minuwangoda Market. I have mentioned it several times during this stay. In fact of the twelve weeks on the island, we have probably been downtown on at least half of them. During the other weekends we were away on trips, or didn't need to shop.
It is a great day to pick up everything needed for the week in one fell swoop. For example, we went to the pharmacy, liquor store, supermarket, umbrella repairman, my telephone top-up card shop, and cake shop. More time was spent walking around buying vegetables in the specially-built area for vendors though. It's fun and practical at the same time.
