There's never snow in this backyard!
Sometimes, I'm absolutely convinced that the things we come to see as chores are really 'the stuff of life'. Rather than rush through them and onto some eventual pursuit, we should relax and relish all the moments we're alive.
Today it's the little things I'll take away as memories:
The loaner baby cow who joined the older cow to munch the jungle grasses.
Sharing the photos of our travels with the family directly on my Toshiba tablet.
My shot of arrack with a typical lunch of rice and curry. (I especially enjoyed the jackfruit.)
The growing family cat, recovering from stomach trouble, catching its first squirrel.
The wild parrots waiting at the feeder at 4:30. (Yes, everything here eats rice.)
Watching Jay happy from having made halapa, a Sri Lankan sweet wrapped in a special leaf.
Getting fresh cloves for drying from the tree that's right by the back door.
