I'd forgotten just how long it takes to get to the other side of the globe. I always forget. We sat for 12 hours getting to Shanghai and then had to wait three hours for the connecting flight. Getting to Kuala Lumpur took another 5 hours. We had to get from KLIA to the LCCT and although the are on opposite sides of the runway it took more than an hour. Thankfully, we'd booked at an airport hotel and checked in about about 3 o'clock in the morning. We didn't have to go back to the airport until 9:30, so we slept, showered, and shaved. The last leg to Colombo, Sri Lanka was only 3.5 hours. We spent a bit of time in the airport buying duty free and picking up a SIM for my phone. The house is only around a half hour from the airport.
So we did leave the apartment in New Westminster, BC at 9:30 am on Sunday and got to the house at 2:30 pm on Tuesday. In retrospect, we ain't got nothing on Marco Polo.
