Last week, the students had to gave oral presentations using MS Powerpoint. When a member of the audience, each student had to complete evaluation forms for all speakers, concentrating on specific criteria. I collected these.
But this last, bonus audio assignment was to record which speaker was their favourite one of the day and tell me why. These audio files were only supposed to be about a minute, but I wanted to have a listen to their comments before putting the presentation grades into the online grade-book.
I have created a habit for this summer course. I always copy the audio files I want to review from the BCIT share-in drive to a normal SD card. Then, I put that in my Toshiba tablet along with headphones. I carry their work to a new park along the river not far from the apartment. I also bring along sunscreen, lotion, a bottle of water (which I've already frozen), and finally a blanket.
I find a good place to spread the blanket and I proceed to correct the assignments while basking in the sun. If there are good habits and bad habits, then it seems as though this is the former type.
