Sometimes I just want to use this space as a personal notebook. I can search through entries by label or keyword. This makes it a good place to include data which might be of interest to me at a later date.
I have been able to scan comments about my weight from old entries. I first mentioned it when our 2006 trip to Sri Lanka was nearly over. I had noticed how hard it was for me to shoehorn my fat ass into skinny airplane seats. I'd never thought of my weight as a problem prior to the trip, so I guess that realization was my catalyst. The initial vow started and allowed me to get from 235 lbs to around 200. I stabilized around there for the longest time. Yet, when I went to the doctor's office in January of this year, I was back up to 212. That and the mirror convinced me to get serious again. Man boobs are not cool.
For more than four months, I did pretty well. It was about a week ago that I searched for an app on my Toshiba tablet as a way to track my weight loss. I'm not concerned about speed in this battle. I know that those who lose slowly have a much better chance of keeping it off. After entering some data into Libra, the app showed me that I'd been losing about 1.1 lbs a week. I can continue doing so. I like the stats screen and the graph which automatically plots the numbers. That is what the graphic above shows. If I continue at the current rate, I should be able to hit my goal of 170 in October. In later months and years, this entry will allow me to see my weight and goals at this very point in time.
