I have been getting a bit more out of YouTube lately. The reason is due to the Android Remote app on my tablet. For the most part, YouTube Leanback is a better experience on any large screen. Yet, having to fiddle the media server's mouse or keyboard meant I seldom watched YouTube on the television. This app has changed things. As long as I am signed on on both my tablet and my media server, then I can line up the clips on my tablet and they are automatically displayed on the much bigger screen. A recent app update seems a little quirky, but the setup does permit me to do many more searches now.
For example, I was trying to find out information on Yelapa, a small village south of Puerto Vallarta. Even though next month's trip will be a return to the area, we didn't get there the last time. Therefore, I have been doing a little research as the only way to get to Yelapa is by boat. I thought I'd try to check to see if I could find any video clips from tourists. That led me to learn about raicilla, a type of local moonshine made from the local variety of agave. Oh, and it can be drunk in a similar way to tequila as well.
