I love the climate here along the coast as it never gets too warm or extremely cold. There's seldom snow to shovel even when winter is at its height. In fact, we've not see any on the ground so far this season. There are times, though, after seemingly endless days of gray overcast skies and non-stop rain when I do feel affected by it all. It's not really a form of cabin fever; rather I simply get a little grumpy.
Today, the skies cleared for a bit. I was uptown doing errands and seeing my doctor for a prescription renewal and the world just seemed so nice. I was walking around watching the pedestrians as though they were characters in some unwritten, unfolding novel. This seemed to be the place in the world where I fit the best.
I drove through Queen's Park and stopped to see what the Rose Garden looks like at this time of year. All the bushes had been pruned back and there was nary a leaf on a twig. I did take this photo though. Some tender flowers still presented me with a little show of cheerfulness.
This is what it can be like in January in BC.
