I'd Rather Be Hiking

It was a little quiet today, just as these type of days should be. In the afternoon, Jay wanted to go to the gym for a bit. He usually stops at Burnaby's Bonsor Complex on the way home from work. It takes just 10 minutes by SkyTrain from downtown New Westminster. So going on a weekend is not a problem.

I said I'd go along. I can travel free on his pass on Sundays. I didn't go for the gym but just to walk around Metrotown which is the second largest shopping mall in Canada. It is well placed as people surely make use of the facilities. I often laugh as I see many people head into the mall on days when they should be out enjoying some of the awesome west-coast natural environment. It doesn't seem to make any difference if the sun is out or not. It doesn't matter if it's pre or post holiday. There are always crowds there.

I was a bit uncomfortable walking around. It can be difficult getting around when there are too many pedestrians in a compact space. One keeps having to go around people nearly get smashed by others. I am happy I got out of the apartment but I cannot say being in such a crowd is fun.
