I do have a type of "lost day" on occasion though. One is occurring now. They happen during flights which cross the International Date line. They are, in reality, much more pronounced when travelling west to east, which I am NOT doing at the moment. As well, unlike some trips we departed from Vancouver just after lunch yesterday. So, really our arrival in Shanghai will be just one day and three hours later on the clock. That's not bad considering the flight itself will only last 12 hours.
What I am trying to introduce is the fact this is an automated entry. I've set this entry to publish at 12:35 pm on Thursday.
I have learned from previous experience, that when blogging, time can become an issue. Each blog exists within a selected time zone and each entry has a time-stamp. So, under normal circumstances when I post an entry at noon in Vancouver that is the time that is shown. Of course people in New York cannot view that post until 3 o'clock. During this entire trip though, we shall be 15 hours ahead of Vancouver time. So, I'm stuck with a familiar quandary: Should I set the blog's time to my location so that posts will publish immediately? Or should I leave the Vancouver time setting and allow 15 hours to lapse before the entry shows up online?
I guess for future reference, it will be easier if I keep my eJournal and images on Vancouver time. Readers will have to remember that the words in my future entries will appear online matching the hour I wrote them, but well after they've actually been typed. BTW/ This means that we will be arriving (have already arrived) in Shanghai at 4:35 pm.
