This photo was taken back in 2007. I wasn't really able to exactly recall the last time the Fraser River was going to be higher than normal due to high snow-pack melting and rain. I still can't say with certainty that these sandbags were the last time such a warning was issued.
Yet, I do know that the river is expected to be at its highest point tomorrow. It really doesn't cause much concern for our exact area along the Fraser. The river is regularly dredged here and the channel is fairly narrow but deep. Those people out in the valley and near some of the low-lying areas closer to where it empties into the Strait of Georgia are more at risk.
