My phone can act as a wifi hotspot, so that is how I'm able to edit this text from this location. It is pretty empty here but as I glance to my right I can see a woman with a baby pram. Also, an elderly woman just walked by with a mongrel dog which was very interested in my activity. For the fairly substantial size of this area, the three of us make Tipperary Park appear rather empty. I'm surprised but secretly happy this area is so under-utilized. I love this area although it is not so natural in the true sense of the word. Two uncovered streams meander though designed waterways and pools. (I'll take an accompanying photo right now and include here.) The grassy knoll on which I'm sitting must have been bulldozed into existence; however, it probably happened decades before I set foot here.
It's a little too early to call this my second childhood, but I love summer for all the reasons I did as a kid. The grass, the smell of new sneakers, and the long, warm days are intoxicating. Maybe it's not so much a return to youth as a time devoid of responsibility. I could sit here forever.
