The majority of tourists probably don't spend too much time in San Jose. As we didn't arrive until after dark, we scheduled a day to look around downtown. We like walking around urban areas and a Sunday is an interesting day in cities like this. Lots of folks were out walking around. Just as in Guadalajara, Mexico or European cities, there are several pedestrian-only shopping streets. It is so unfortunate that urban planners in North America neglect this type of setting where a city can strut its stuff.
We have a flight which leaves at around noon tomorrow. We'll be flying to Belize City, Belize via San Salvador. We should arrive there after 3:30 so we'll have to see whether we stay downtown or on Caye Caulker ...
