My tracker had been bugging me for months and months. The folks at extremetracking.com created a new version of their statistics program a long time ago. Each time I reviewed information about the visitors to my eJournal and images, I'd get a warning that my tracker was outdated. It was true that I begain collecting information when Windows XP was only two years old. As a result, many of my guests ran prior versions of the software. The old tracker didn't even know what Windows Vista was. I started using that tracker less than a week after I created my blog. Of course over the years the number of people visiting had increased. Yet the early stats weighed down the totals.
Yet, it may have been just been because of the fact the original tracker worked quite well, that I was hesitant to switch over to the newer version. Unfortunately, none of the old stats would be imported, so it was like starting from scratch. That to me, obviously, was a hindrance.
Today, at 10:55 in the morning, I was pushed into upgrading. It seems the code used on my former page format would not work inside the HTML widget of my new blogger.com template. I signed up for their free improved tracker and put it right into use. You will see a tiny globe icon in the footer of each page here. That is the way to view who has been visiting and important information about the countries of origin and computer configuration. You can take a look if you wish. This net application is clearly an improvement. I guess I don't feel sad in having to ditch about six and a half years of the original record-keeping.
Here are some stats collected by the old tracker:
