Still, today's announcement is being seen as niche. I don't think it is. I love the idea of small tablet devices. Of course, I'd never buy an Apple iPad as I wouldn't want to wrestle with its iTunes albatross. Still, I find myself constantly keeping my Acer netbook near me. It sits on the coffee table for instant searches that come from TV, conversation, or life. It's small but not perfect. I need proximity to a flat, simple, networked device. Would it be keyboard-less and thin, so much the better. Come on developers from Asia, give me a tablet that runs Win 7, is light and sturdy, and sets me back about $250 bucks.
