The place is still in a bit of a shambles though. I mean the apartment is really not completely restored after the carpet installation of earlier in the month. At the time, we threw away some of the old furniture and haven't found suitable replacements. I have no bookshelf nor curio cabinet. I haven't been able to find a good stand for the TV. I need more space after dedicating my old computer as the media center server. All that equipment is temporarily half-assembled and I'm still shy a few necessary wires. We also wanted to find a better coffee table but haven't yet. There are still numerous boxes pushed up against various walls. All this provides the uneasiness one feels when living out of cardboard right after moving.
It's all okay though. The kitchen and bathroom counters will not be replaced until January because of the quickly approaching holidays. It's better to ride things out and wait until we find suitable furniture. My first inclination is simply to buy anything just to put things back into a semblance of order. What'd be silly though. It used to be that we stayed only a few years in each location. Perhaps I still miss no longer being uprooted regularly. Doing these upgrades has provided that missing but needed stress to life.
