Mt. Sunapee from this perspective is burnt into my brain. I haven't seen it for years but I did see it daily for my first eighteen. I haven't lived or stayed in Wendell since the early 1980's. The area was the name of a neighbourhood of Sunapee, New Hampshire where I grew up. Actually there is no Wendell now that the small US post office was closed. I am not worried about not being able to see the name on a map though. This is especially true, since I can go into Google Maps and actually see Street View images of the area. Talk about an armchair traveller! I always dreamed of various aspects of our technological futures, but I never quite envisioned an application like this. It is nice to see what has changed and what hasn't.
In the image above I'm up Young's Hill Road a little past the house where Susan Nielsen grew up. You can click the arrows on the map and proceed down the hill. The driveway of my former house is directly across Route 103. If you turn left and go just a bit, you will be able to make a loop around Depot Road. (Google seems to be calling it a street rather than a road.) I'm sure clicking around the area won't be nearly as fun for you though. Hey, are those self-storage containers or distribution warehouses next to the Keatings' place?
