Jay and I were still away on vacation during the October day when Canadians observe
Thanksgiving. I have to teach this afternoon but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the holiday celebrated by our
neighbours to the south. It makes for a perfect 'run up' to Christmas around a month later. I have the Macy's Parade recording right now from the satellite's Boston NBC feed.
In fact, during the greater part of my life, Thanksgiving occurred at the end of November. In the photo below I'm standing with my mom, dad, and grandmother Hurd. For a few years when I was young, we used to have Thanksgiving at the Krikorians in Methuen MA. My Aunt Olive was married to Uncle George Krikorian. They moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the 1970's.
