Classes have different 'group personalities'. This one is easy-going but hard-working. Most of my lessons and materials involve having students work in groups at tables. Discussions are a key component to nearly every activity. This class, on all occasions, uses their time well. They seem to stay on task and benefit from the interaction.
I'm not used to twenty contact hours per week, but getting through July isn't going to be too tough. Today, I was watching as they were preparing classification trees on overhead transparancies. I was thinking how lucky I am to have a job like this. Of course, the students are just as lucky to have had the chance to study with such an organized and professional teacher!
