I was using Facebook's instant messaging just now to chat with a childhood neighbour. Susan Nielsen Stocklan is not the best at keeping in touch. I think I've seen her just a few times since college graduation. So, hearing from her was gratifying. I half promised to attend a wedding in Vegas on New Year's Eve 2011. You know that little chapel on the strip, don't you?
Here's a photo of two of Susan's sisters and mom. We're sitting on the big farm porch across the main road from where I grew up. This was taken in 2002 when I went back to NH for my 25th High School Reunion. I loved that porch.
Blogging seems less exciting due to the more spontaneous sharing of Facebook. Add a URL. Post an old photograph. Just type a hello to someone you'd never bother to write an email to. I love it although I have a more sober view of its benefits. I wish the two friends from Richmond would, at least, give it a try by adding a little circle of friends.
