I got an actual email the other week! It was a little shocking to see a personal message in my Google Mail in-box. Except for several
'techno-peasant' friends, everybody with whom I'd ever wish to communicate is on facebook.

The messages I receive now consist mostly of opt-in lists. For example, I get a huge listing of newly released and recently-arrived DVD and Blu-ray disks from my online video store on Tuesdays. I keep getting adverts from three cruise ship companies with whom we've sailed in the past. A big-box pet shop and meat-store both send emailed brochures when they have sales. As well, I have asked for PBS monthly updates. Other organizations with whom we have affiliation also send periodic messages. For example, World Vision and some charitable organizations keep me on their mailing lists.
So, I'm most likely to get messages which aren't directly mailed to just me. They, cannot, however, be considered spam. I don't mind getting them, yet more often than not, I erase without much scrutiny.
Oops, gotta go. It's Thursday and I just got the weekly sale listing from my computer store. If you'd like to look at the contents, you may. Click the tiny image above and then select the main box on the NCIX website which shows that an Easter sale is on.
