The weather today was the type for which we return to British Columbia. I realized I've not had the drone out of the apartment this month. I walked to the far end of Carnarvon Street and continued to the grassy area near Albert Crescent. It was an interesting place to pilot.
I finally am getting the feel for how the little DJI Mavic Mini flies. The capabilities of the tiny plastic drone seem amazing to me. I found myself zooming around in 'Sports Mode' today for the first time. I still cannot imagine taking my device to its limits. My licence allows me to fly to a ceiling of 122 meters (400 feet) and supposedly the Mini can operate to a distance 4 km (2.5 miles) from me. However, I get fearful when it goes higher than the trees or approaches the end of whatever park I'm in.
