In broad strokes, the sequence runs across one hundred and thirty-five nights. We begin with five nights in Southampton to shake off jet lag, followed by twenty-four nights crossing the Atlantic aboard a ship bound for Brazil. From there, we settle into an eighty-nine night residency in Rio de Janeiro, followed by a week in the Galápagos, six nights in Bogotá, and a night trying to sleep sitting upright in coach before returning home to New Westminster.
Seeing the whole winter condensed into a neat table is oddly satisfying. One spends months wrestling with airline portals, rental hosts, and cruise line bureaucracies, only to discover an entire season reduces cleanly to five distinct addresses. The logistical architecture is officially settled; now the only lingering puzzle is convincing our carry-ons to cooperate with airline luggage scales.
