Today is Easter Monday in Canada. Plenty of people have this as a long weekend, well, at least those in schools and such. Every weekend is a long weekend for retired folks, I guess. We headed to the West End this afternoon.
Tim and Jiwan hosted the first 'duck party' of the season! I've repeated this scenario a million times in my eJournal. This group has been friends for decades, and we use our rubber duckies as a way to ensure that all host dinners on an equal basis. Whoever carries the ducks home on a rotating basis must ensure they host the next get-together. Now the 'yellow quackers' are in New Westminster!
We had a pleasant time catching up on all the details of our lives as well as the dinner with included tasty chicken and a beautiful cherry cake.
We hope to host the next one soon, but honestly, retirement makes the chore more and more difficult because of conflicting schedules due to trips, engagements, and appointments.
Jay and I always travel downtown via SkyTrain and we returned that way this evening. We just got home at about 10:15 pm.
