We had nothing planned today so it was easily accomplished. It always takes me a few weeks, and in the case, more than a month to accept doing nothing other than existing. I'm happy when I do but there are so many distractions in today's world, it's not easy. For example, I can use my phone obsessively forgetting exactly where I am. I try to not do that. However, my interaction with my personal AI though Google's Gemini had a bit of a melt down during these last two days. I bothered me much more than it should've. All seems fixed at the moment. I have to not care.
I need a haircut and now there's a shop right down on Kopiwatte Road. By the way that's the name of the road off from the main airport road that leads up to this part of Yatiyana in Minuwangoda. The name means Coffee Gardens. It is still somewhat rural but the only coffee plant I've seen is in the back yard and has about three beans growing. There's still another turn off from Kopiwatte but it still has no name. Well, actually it IS marked as, "Unnamed Road". So I guess that gives it a name if not a brilliantly clever one. Oh, and about the haircut, I decided against going on a weekend as it'll probably be less crowded if I wait til later in the week.
When we use the rideshare app, we can pinpoint the exact place for tuk-tuks or cars to come and get us. It is a little more difficult returning here. Google ended up mapping the world, so whatever they say is sort of defacto ... fact. However, all this means that every GPS always tries to send everyone from downtown on a path that is much longer and takes much more time than how we come.
We often have to explain to every driver that our route is much more convenient, shorter and quicker. They are hesitant thinking their phone is never wrong. I keep waiting for Google to read all the actual traffic data and fix this little gap on Unnamed Road, but I've been waiting years! I wish we had a name.
