Harvest Days

Today it was hard to see far because of the nonstop rain. It has been pretty much non-stop pouring since we got up.  That's not necessarily a bad thing here as things were getting quite dry. We've been spared from the presence of wildfire smoke this year. If a day or two of rain will ensure this continues, I'm all for it. 

It was one of those days were it was most comfortable to sit indoors and peer outside. Yet, we did a fruit and vegetable run to the Langley Farm Market. How great to see the new local, apple crop showing up. Apples right from the orchid are not coated with wax or treated with 1-methylcyclopropene. That's why I love the local harvest of fruits and vegetables during our summers in British Columbia. 

Interestingly, the local prune plums are already hitting the market shelves too!  But sadly, that means the cherry season is over ...
