I had to try the new transit pass I received yesterday. Now, I have a discounted calendar year's worth of bus, SkyTrain, or Seabus travel. I tapped in at the gates as usual and the screen indicated I was valid for travel until the end of December 2025.
This is like an all-you-can-eat transit buffet. Even though our vehicle has always offered us universal mobility, this pass will change our lifestyle. I can walk downstairs and get on a SkyTrain that'll connect me to any location in the Greater Vancouver Region. Cost was never a constraint. but having this card will alter our routines. For example, I can now suggest to Jay that we go pick up a few cooked items at the T&T in Surrey, or head to Lake Lafarge in Coquitlam for a little walk. Getting to downtown Vancouver doesn't require a second thought! Now trips that aren't strictly necessary become a real and viable option.
This morning, I activated the card and went with Jay to his community center in Burnaby. Then, I walked back through the Metrotown Mall and came home. Jay got home later after he did his workout!
