I must have posted dozens of entries mentioning New Westminster's Queen's Park in my eJournal and images over the last twenty years. So, I guess it's not surprising this is another one.
We headed uptown but first stopped at our city's favourite park.
It was a little difficult passing the former animal petting zoo and seeing it standing empty again this summer. That part of the park feels sad and lonely without watching some kid's first encounters with goats, bunnies, or even baby cows! I don't quite understand why this type of family-oriented facility has become somewhat unfashionable nowadays.
Life goes on. We noticed some children were cooling off early in the day at the water play area. We also noted a few adults were setting up for a wedding ceremony in the rose garden today. Those activities, at least, provided a feeling of continuity. We didn't stay long. However, as we plugged into DC electric charging my car got its battery boosted a bit.
