I like any excuse to close Columbia Street. It's a major artery for travellers from our area because New Westminster occupies a central location in the Metro-Vancouver region. During summers, it's nice to take back the street as pedestrians.
I guess this is the second annual Car Free Day here. I don't remember where we were when it was held last year. However, we do have an annual New West Pride Street Fest in a few weeks. I'd like to encourage Saturday closures for the whole summer!
It was fun to walk out of our building through the SkyTrain station and onto the sidewalk today.
