Day 103 - We sailed into Rio de Janeiro in the morning. Actually, we were eating breakfast watching our progress into the well-protected harbour.
We had to wait in our ship's main theatre for the eight-hour tour of the city.
We had a wonderful tour guide who spoke Portuguese to the driver and English and Spanish to those in our bus. She must've been around 80 and was amazingly spry for an elderly lady.
We head across the city to visit the famous Christ, the Redeemer.
Our group didn't have to wait in queue for any of the tickets needed for the train, lift, or escalators.
What an amazing city!
Then we went for lunch at about 3:30 pm in Ipanema at a Brazilan meat restaurant. Followed by a drive down that beach and the neighbouring Copacabana strip.
Lastly, we took the cable cars up to the top of Sugarloaf. The day turned to night when we were up there. We returned to the ship after coming back down.
