We ducked down to the closest store to buy some cheap drinking water. Although everybody says the public water supply is fine, we are going to buy bottles for a while. Each 6.5-litre bottle normally costs about $US 1.25 but these were on sale at a DIA for around $US 0.80 each. Speaking of prices, I have a new, favourite wine that costs nearly $US 0.85 a litre. Vino Tinto Arizu does come in a box, but that's an added convenience, isn't it?
I'm a little disappointed that our area doesn't have a lot of options for eating out. It seems as though hamburgers and pastries rule this part of Buenos Aires! Nevertheless, we like living along Avenida de Mayo. It will be pretty convenient to access other parts of the city when we feel up to it.
