My results are not, in any way, scientific. Most AI-generators offer at least four possible, initial images. I chose two I considered the best from each and edited the images before uploading them.
I added additional parameters, on the sites which allow such inclusion. (For example, DALL-2 images are always square but Midjourney and NightCafe allow for the creation of widescreen images and this was in keeping with my goals.)
Midjourney created satisfactory images similar to what I had in mind. There was no obvious water in any of the output though. The results always look a bit more like a painting than a photograph. DALL-E 2 was great at the specific concepts and adhered well to the prompt but the small size and lower-quality output were turnoffs. NightCafe created smooth, varied, good-quality, images. Yet only one had much semblance to my prompt. That image happened to be my favourite of the lot though! Starryai, as, usual, created interesting, mature images but it completely missed the mark in matching the prompt. Just one included any creatures and the sad beasts were too misformed to be suitable.
