We knew that it'd be a leisurely trip home. Our hotel was about 200 meters from the Winnipeg Square bus routes. Our flight was supposed to leave at 2:15 pm, so we ate breakfast and slowly got ready to go.
Bus #20 takes around 40 minutes to get to the airport. It's not far, but the bus had frequent stops on a less-than-direct route. So, we got to view a few of the neighbourhoods of the city.
The airport was pretty busy but it didn't take long to go through domestic security. We noticed that our flight was running later and later. The WestJet had to arrive from Vancouver before heading back.
We were nearly an hour late boarding the aircraft with an additional half-hour before we were in the air. I think this is common for WS 449. Perhaps they could make the schedule a little more realistic.
Still, it was a pleasant flight with no surprises. I enjoyed seeing the squared-off lands of the country's agricultural heartland and the mountain ranges. The photo below is Kelowna taken about 20 minutes before we descended into YVR. We came home by public transit on two SkyTrain lines and dependable bus #100. We were here by 5:30 pm.
