Actually, I disconnected from the charger and left for home with 86% of a full charge, but the rate of DC changing slows substantially as soon as an EV hits 80% capacity. I had to pay $CA 9.52 because Kimchi stayed connected the whole time that we were getting groceries.
Under quick calculation, I paid nearly half of what I would have for an equivalent amount of gasoline. I do pay more for electricity as I'm not able to charge at home. My building presently doesn't have that option, but I do not mind contributing to the public-charging infrastructure. Regular petrol in the Lower Mainland now costs nearly $CA 2.20 per liter or approximately $US 6.50 per gallon!
