We've been taking flu shots for years as Jay worked with at-risk youth and I was a post-secondary language instructor. Even though we retired early, we have continued with these yearly preventive measures.
We had been waiting for this year's regular, seasonal flu shots as Jay is now eligible for the high-dose version. Because wearing masks last winter was so effective against the spread of viruses, there was practically a non-existent flu season. That means this year's shots are more important than ever. We do it for the benefit of our community and for the people around us.
We couldn't receive a confirmation on when the high-dose version for Jay might be coming to the pharmacies. Therefore, he walked with me to the Shoppers Drug Mart and we both got the regular dose this morning. The court building on Carnarvon Street looked very much like an autumn scene.
