Just Taking it Easy at Home

For a moment this afternoon, I had an odd feeling of déjà vu.  I felt a nagging idea that I needed to begin preparing for a new class at BCIT.  For an instant, I had an overwhelming desire to count how much precious free time remained before I needed to complete preparation.  Suddenly, I shook my head and consciously acknowledged I haven't had a group of students since the fall of 2014 when I took early retirement.

Let's see, what else?  Today, I learned that the city's final, bathroom plumbing inspection will take place on Friday, as will the installation of our fixed-glass shower screen.  That should mean, by next week, the remaining paint touch-ups and caulking can be scheduled.  We will still need to wait for several additional weeks to get a door to the washer/drier closet though.  The opening is oddly sized and required we order a custom door.

Lastly, after last week's heatwave, more normal temperatures in Metro-Vancouver have returned.  I have to confide that today's high of only 21°C (less than 70°F) seems cold!  So it is not a coincidence that we are continuing to check on this project in tropical Sri Lanka.  Construction of the Amber Sky apartments will start next month and finish in August of 2024.  We are in contact with the developer to learn more.
