We are due to fly to Mazatlan for the remainder of our winter on the 7th. We also bought tickets to return to Vancouver on April 2nd. However, just like last year, new COVID restrictions may affect our travel dates. Canada has effectively cancelled most flights to 'sun destinations' until April 30, 2021. However, some flights will still be flying back into the Vancouver airport. The details are all a little messy with the Canadian government seemingly making up the new rules as they go along.
We're not stressed by any of it. We are all set with a nice apartment in the historical zone of Mazatlan for a couple of months. If we have to spend additional time there, it'll work out swimmingly. I've said all along that we will have to play this winter by ear.
I couldn't forget that precisely one year ago, we had just left Sri Lanka after a visit of three months. On this date, we were showing Jay's sisters around the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. How lucky to have sneaked in their 10-day trip before COVID restrictions came into force!
Just as this year is turning out, Jay and I had to adjust our return trip because of airline cancellations and flight restrictions.
