Last year on this date, I saw my new electric vehicle for the first time. So, my KONA Electric was due for its first servicing. There ain't a hell of a lot of maintenance to do on one, but I did get an important software update. I didn't plan it; however, the appointment fell exactly on my first year of ownership.

Kimchi has really spoiled me. Driving the black, gas loaner-car was a weird experience. This was a little 2020 KONA turbo. That means most things were in a familiar place. It had enough pep, but it could not provide instantaneous power. I stepped on the pedal and it took moments to get moving as its transmission had to find a gear. Weird. It felt terribly wasteful having an engine running but providing no useful work while at traffic lights. The whole experience just felt sloppy and old-fashioned.
I didn't know how used I'd become to driving an electric vehicle. I would never willingly go back to anything burning fossil fuels.
