Day 96 - It's good having guests to show around because it keeps us busy. For example, we'd never been the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple. Life is like that; when we were living here last winter we didn't act like tourists.
Today, we used the app to arrange for a Grab rideshare. It was around RM 14 to travel to the Petaling Jaya area. As there are four of us, it's cheap as well as convenient to have someone pick us up right at the entrance to the Maytower and take us to the destination.
I really can't say I thought much of the temple. It seemed more Chinese than Thai. I think I was 'turned off' by a million signs showing the prices of various offerings. All the signs about money sort of negated any holy or reverent atmosphere.
When we went to leave, I realized that my Sri Lankan SIM wasn't giving me any data. I couldn't use my rideshare app to get a ride back. I'd skipped picking up a Malaysian number at the airport last Friday. I guess that is a priority now. We did flag down a taxi and went to the Sentral, near Brickfields. It was only RM 11 with a bit of a tip.
Brickfields is known as Little India. Isn't it strange that the Chinese sections of SE Asian cities are referred to as their Chinatown, but the locations for Indian diaspora are always named, Little India.
We had a nice time walking around and slipping into the many shops. Some of our very first experiences in Malaysia were here as we stayed at a hotel in this area. I really like the revitalization. The planners have done a good job of making the place feel a bit more upscale.

We came back home via one of the five free bus routes that crisscross Kuala Lumpur. Later in the evening, Jay made dinner and we all ate in our place.
