Day 1 - Flying really doesn't take much work on a passenger's part. Perhaps the tedium is part of the problem. The flight that left Vancouver arrived in Taiwan this morning. Twelve hours seems like twenty on a plane when one's tucked into an economy seat. The beginning of today was spent at the Taiwan airport and on this trip, I was not too impressed. All the folks transferring make a line that literally snaked about a kilometer waiting to access the three security x-ray machines. We had an hour and a half and it worked out perfectly, but I'd rather have not stood for the whole time.
Still, the fact I got from Vancouver to Kuala Lumpur relatively effortlessly is a blessing. We were not really bright-eyed and bushy-tailed but we Grabbed (local Uber) to our downtown hotel. It is nearly 60 kilometers but we were able to check in by 1:30 PM.
We're staying at the Lotus Hotel near Masjid Jamek. It is perfect for our two nights as it's right in 'our' neighbhourhood of Kuala Lumpur. We will do a little shopping tomorrow and catch up on sleep.
