We returned home to great weather. If there are going to be clear, blue skies, then we can probably count on the last week of July and first of August. This was our view of the Fraser River from the balcony this evening.
Our recent Alaskan cruise was blessed with pretty nice weather too. It was nice in Juneau. Our helicopter ride to a glacier outside of Skagway was magnificent. Our only rainy-day port was Ketchikan, AK. That city refers to itself as the Salmon Capital of the World but it's equally known as Rain City. Some form of precipitation occurs an average of 234 days per year. More importantly, the port averages over 150 inches (equal to 12.5 feet, or 3.8 meters) of rain annually. I'm sort of glad we got to say we saw it from under umbrellas.
