The thing is, the remote for my receiver seemed as though it was a bit unresponsive. I knew it was time to recharge the NiMH batteries so I plugged those in for some juice. I hardly ever adjust the home theatre audio on the device itself. I had to get down on my stomach and wedge myself between the coffee table and the component stand. A little dusty here, I thought outloud. Okay, I will change DSP from 'movie' to 'studio-mix'. Which button is that? There were quite a few. When pressing I found something I'd never seen: the 5.1 crossover frequency setting. I had to do a quick Internet search. All right, my speakers are pretty large, so I'll stick to the default 80Hz rather than increasing it.
Live and learn. I have had my Onkyo HT-R500 for fifteen years!
