Firstly, I had intended to allow my truck insurance to expire on November 17th, as we will be leaving for five months prior to that date. However, events and situations have changed those plans. I hope to have a new Hyundai Kona EV ready for us when we return from SE Asia in the spring. Part of the purchase means applying for our provincial vehicle Scrap-It program which provides partial funding for electric vehicles by helping to get old, gas guzzlers off the road. However, in order to be eligible, my truck must have been registered for the six months prior to the application. This means I have to keep the Ranger insured although I won't be using it. Sometimes one must spend a little money in order to save some.
Secondly, Jay had an errand which involved money too. We walked up to the Service Canada office so he could turn in an application for Canadian Old Age Security. He got the application in the mail this week because his 65th birthday is less than one year away. He retired at 60 years old at the same time as I took early retirement. The pension he's now getting is based on the amount he paid into the system as a worker. Starting next year, he's chosen to start the age dependent pension.

I took this picture today because a new 32GB SD card arrived in an Amazon delivery today. I wanted to ensure it worked, so I just went towards the living room balcony door.
This photo sort of shows the type of day on which we completed these errands.
